Gospel Journey
I'm beginning my April journey through the gospels today. I'm starting in John's gospel.
I love the double emphasis of John 1:3: "Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." That leaves no room for doubt. Every single electron and gluon and neutron in the universe originates with God. All matters comes from spirit. Every visible things was once invisible. We get it backwards. We sometimes thing that matter is more real than spirit because we can see it and touch it. But the stuff we can't see is more real that the stuff we can see.
I'm meditating on Jesus first miracle today. He changed the molecular structure of water and turned it into wine. If you can transform the molecular structure of something is there anything you can't do? I think we put God in a box that is way to small. Ever been to a store and bought a big ticket item and the clerk tries to put it in a bag that you know is way too small? That's what we do to God.
John 2:25 says that Jesus did not need human testimony. He found all of his validation from His Heavenly Father. He didn't need to be validated by anyone. He had no fear of man. I'm convinced that is the greatest freedom in the universe! You don't have to prove yourself to anybody!
One last verse really got into my spirit. "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." I don't want to do things in the flesh because they won't last. I want to be spirit-led, spirit-filled, spirit-empowered. I am believing that the Spirit of God is birthing new things in my heart. I drove out to Vienna for a meeting this morning and prayed almost the entire way. I was having revival in my car. I almost think the car would have kept going even if I'd run out of gas. I'm so hungry for God right now and I've learned not to take that for granted. I'm feeding the hunger.
