I met with someone yesterday who told me I write in sound bytes. I'd never thought about my writing or preaching in those terms, but I think it's true. I tend to communicate in sound bytes. We live in an MTV era where people tend to digest things in sound bytes, but I'm not sure anything has changed in the last two thousand years. Jesus packaged truth in sound bytes called parables. All of that is to say this: I'm thinking about communication in slightly different terms today. I've always been a big believer in one-point preaching. I guess I'm a believer in sound-byte writing. By the way, isn't that what a blog is? And maybe that's why they're so popular. Digestable thoughts.
