Recommended Reading: Must Reads

The following are some books that have been extremely influential in my thinking. Some of them are fictional. Some are inspirational. All of them have stretched my thinking. Many of them defy categories so this is my "grab bag" of must reads.

The Purpose-Driven Church by Rick Warren
The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
Sacred Pathways by Gary Thomas
The Lost Choice by Andy Andrews
The Power of Positive Prophecies by Laurie Beth Jones
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Mozart's Brain and the Fighter Pilot by Richard Restak
The Vision and the Vow by Pete Greig
When Heaven Invades Earth by Bill Johnson
The Success Principles by Jack Canfield
The Art of Possibility by Benjamin Zander

I'm sort of weak on fiction :) I'm sort of a non-fiction person who is trying to read more fiction. I am reading the Chronicles of Narnia to my kids :)

Thanks for responding. It's vice versa for me for the most part; probably because my dad read The Chronicles of Narnia to me when I was younger. Good memories.

Your non-fiction list will be a great place for me to start. Thanks.

I wanted to add a disclaimer to this "recommended reading" list. These recommendations aren't necessarily "endorsements." I rarely agree with 100% of what I read. For example, I don't agree with the underlying theology of the Celestine Prophecy. But these books have stretched my thinking in different ways.

I just finished reading The Vision and the Vow last night by Pete Greig. I read Red Moon Rising before that and absolutely loved it. It's a life changing book. I'd also recommend Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell. Good stuff.
