Ethiopia: Down the Mountain

I think the toughest part of missions trips is coming off the mountain. It is such a spiritual high. There is so much spiritual intensity that it's tough to get back into the swing of things. I don't want to go back to life as usual. I don't want to lose the intensity. I think rituals and routines are good, but I feel like Peter who wanted to stay on the mount of transfiguration. Just as we experience jet lag physically there is a spiritual jet lag after a spiritual high. I'm just praying that the things I've experienced wouldn't be lost.
