t-shirts
I just an email from an NCCer that made me laugh at me. For what it's worth, I have this conviction that the healthiest people in the world are the people who laugh at themselves the most. This NCCer was in a t-shirt shop and they started thinking about "Pastor Mark" quotes that could be sayings on t-shirts. Here are a few they came up with: "let's connect"; "let me tie this in a knot"; and "I am so out of time." I didn't realize I said those things so much that they've become "markisms." I got a good laugh. Of course, they forgot my personal favorite: "let me move toward a close." I've been thinking for quite some time about a clothing line that would enable people to wear their faith on their sleeve. But I now have another idea. What if we wore shirts that made fun of ourselves? It'd keep all of us humble! By the way, I'm taking nominations and suggestions.

sorry, hilarious is one L.
PR....:-)
what about:
"let me put some skin on it"
"i'm just a big believer in... add respective finish"
all joking aside though- there is no better learning technique than repetition, repetition, repetition...
you know, like how in the Hebrew tradition, when they wanted to get something across, they said a word twice, and if the REALLY wanted to get something across they would say a word 3 times times times!

Let's not forget the Markism of "hold that thought."
Also, "for what it's worth..." That phrase is now more than an awesome Buffalo Springfield song.
"Let me put a frame around it..."
don't forget mark-pronunciations!Like my personal favorite,
... 'vallnrable' for vulnerable
I don't know whether to laugh or cry :) This is cracking me down (yes, another markism). I didn't realize that some of my verbal mannerisms were so unusual. Keep them coming! Here are a few more of my favorites:
It's fobody's nault (think about it)
Diaper spelled backwards is repaid (that'd be a great shirt for parents)
Do it right and Do it big
And I love the word "juxtapose" and "microcosm."
Wow- a new can of worms. Mark pronunciations. What about:
"devAlop"
and
"always" with the "al" pronounced like the person's name Al.
The first thing that came to my mind was definitely "Let me put some skin on that for you."
That really resonates with me
