diagnosis day

I wonder if Lance Armstrong would have won six Tour De France races if he hadn't been diagnosed with cancer?

It seems surviving cancer is the driving motivation of his life. The bike he's riding this year has 10/2 inscribed on it. That's his diagnosis day. It's almost like jujitsu. He has used something that could have killed him to infuse his life with more meaning. Jujitsu is using anything that could hurt you to help you. By the way, Lance Armstrong calls the anniversary of his cancer diagnosis "Carpe Diem Day" or "seize the day" day.

A near-death experience can often be the greatest gift because it makes you realize how precious life is. That's what I discovered on 07.23.00. My intestines ruptured and I should have died. It was the worst day of my life, but it was also the best day of my life. I have two birthdays. I celebrate November 5 and July 23 each year.
