faux camping
We camped out last night....in our backyard. What a fun experience. If you've been camping you know that the "sounds" are a huge part of the experience! Camping out in the city was pretty wild because there were sirens and lots of fireworks (since it was July 3rd). I'm also used to it being pitch black when we camp out in the woods, but a "streetlight" in our alley served as our nightlight.
I have to admit. I probably liked "faux camping" better than "real camping." It was the best of both worlds. It was an "outdoor adventure" but we had our bathroom and our grill a few steps away. We even brought our futon mattress out to the tent to sleep on. It was definitely the most comfortable camping experience I've ever had. And, I'm sorry, but I'm in to comfort :)
The kids got up at the crack of dawn this morning and I told them to go watch cartoons :) One more advantage of camping in your backyard :)
I know this is a tough blog for camping purists. Sorry about the camping heresy :)
