South America Telecast
Our Sunday morning messages have been broadcast in South America the past few months on the Unsion Network. We got a DVD of one of the programs today. It was pretty cool to see it. It's awesome to know that we're impacting people we'll probably never meet. The great irony is that the messages are translated into Spanish subtitles. My "spanish skilzs" or lack thereof is a constant joke with my circle of friends. Let's just say that after three and a half years of Spanish I remember about three and a half words! It's pretty pathetic.
I've been thinking lately that we might want to webcast and/or broadcast our services at Ebenezers. I don't think it's something that I seriously thought about until now. But we're sort of coming at this through the back door. I've found that God has an interesting way of "backing us into" certain things so we have no idea that's where we were going!

Mark,
I can't believe I have bumped into you!
Remember me?
I was worship pastor at Calvary in Naperville right before you and Lora married.
I attend Fellowship Church in Grapevine Texas (Dallas) where Ed Young is the pastor.
TerryStorch.com 's blog (Terry is on the executive staff at Fellowship) came out with the top 10 innovative churches in America...and you guys were on that list!
When I surfed to your website, I got chills, seeing you and Lora and your family and Joel. Wow. So exciting.
Tell Lora hi for me.
Sherri and I just graduated our youngest son, Ricky, from High School. He won the state basketball championship this year. That makes 3 state championships and 3 All State sons for our family. I can rest now.
Ricky is on staff in the media ministry of Fellowship. I am producing film and video full time and serve as Video Director for one of Fellowship's satellite campuses.
Preston, our oldest son, just interviewed with Joel Osteen to lead their Student Ministry, but he has decided to stay put as Pastor of Student Ministries at Gateway Church in Dallas.
Brad is chief pilot at American Flyers.
We have our 3rd grandchild on the way.
Life is fabulous! I love living this way!
Now that I know you have a blog, I will enjoy keeping up with what is going on with you guys.
All my best,
Rick Morrison
If you want to webcast, talk to Pastor Dave. I gave him information on something called the Tricaster. It will do webcasts as well as just about everything else yall could possibly need.
Sorry about missing this morning, I really wanted to come, but I made a bad time judgement call. I will try to be there next week. I will see you Sunday!
Mark
Rick,
I love the blogosphere! Never know what old friend you'll bump into. So excited to hear about what you guys are doing. I'm hoping to get to C3 in January this year. It'd be great to connect. Email me your address (mark@theaterchurch.com) and I'll send you one of our DVDs. I think you'd enjoy it.
By the way, I have a "Rick Morrison" memory that you may not even remember. The details may be a little fuzzy, but Rich Wilkerson was preaching at Calvary on a Sunday night and you were leading worship. I think you gave an interpretation from the keyboard that was something like "God wants us to get the crap out of our lives." And Rich got up and said he was glad that God used the word "crap." Hilarious!
I can't hear that word without thinking of you :)
