domino-effect

I was talking to someone today and I said, "It seems like opportunities are reproducing like rabbits right now." It's like a domino-effect. I wrote another article for Relevant magazine today and got two requests for other articles from other magazines today.

I'm just sort of standing back right now and marveling at the synchronicities. I don't feel like anything is being forced. In the words of Mihaly Czikzcentmihaly, there is a "flow" right now. Fun stuff.

Check out the new TIME magazine for this week. It has some great articles on Christian businesses. BusinessWeek did an article a few months ago on the dollar power of megachurches across the country - how some are hiring people from McKenzie and Co. for marketing and money management/investing. Maybe we need to start recruiting from some of the top places to market the message. I am sure there are people on Madison Avenue and in Hollywood and in Dollywood and Bollywood looking for a carreer change to a more meaningful place of employment. (I'd love to meet Dolly Parton).

Very interesting.

For what it's worth, I've found it valuable to hire outside "church boundaries" because there is a cross-pollination that can be very valuable. I'm going to look for that article.

Other thoughts - using the maintstream media as Teddy Roosevelt did. What about making news - sending out invites to the Wash Post, MTV, the City Paper, Rolling Stone to actually go on a mission with NCC and write an article/produce a show on it . Rolling Stone recently did an article about a young woman who singlehandedly went to Afghanistan and Iraq by herself and took score of civilian casualties - she singlehandedly changed the way the Dept of Defense did business on this issue - then she was blown up by insurgents - crazy world - but her story totally touched me.
