relics

Anybody else love Cracker Barrel? I love their decor. It produces viseral nostalgia! I want Ebenezers to have that feel minus the agricultural motif. I want to do more than celebrate the history of Capitol Hill. I want it to produce nostalgia. I want the main floor to feel like a time warp--like you're walking back into 1907.

I'm not entirely sure how to accomplish that or what the "final feel" will be like, but I came across some cool relics at www.earlstation.com. (Thanks to www.changedesigngroup.com for the links).

Here is one of my favorites. Makes you feel like you're in an English movie doesn't it? It's actually "life-size." I need to get me one of them :)

Anyone know where to find train relics?

I usually don't comment on my own blogs before anyone else has a change to :)

But man would I love the back of a caboose!!! I even love the word :)

It'd even have some cool political significance for DC too because that's how politicians used to campaign back in the early 20th century. Stump speeches or train speeches.

I'd love to have an actual caboose built into the wall with seats, etc. Just an idea.

Where do you find a caboose :) I've never seen one by the side or the road :) or a pawnshop :) I don't even think Wal-Mart carries cabooses :)

I can see it now...build the caboose right into the wall lengthwise and saw the side of it right off so you could put tables or comfy chairs in it and people could sit up there and chill out. I think this could qualify for a "pimp my caboose" pilot episode.
