Georgetown University
I spoke at Georgetown University tonight. We've supported a great campus ministry called Chi Alpha for years. I'm not sure what it is, but I love being on a college campus. It gets my adrenaline going. I think part of it is is my passion for twenty-somethings. College is such a critical life chapter. I love helping twenty-somethings navigate the third decade.
Another part of it is that fact that I don't get an honorarium. That might sound crazy, but it's preaching for preaching sake! I probably preached a hundred times before I ever got an honorarium. I preached to youth groups, nursing homes, and shelters. I'll never forget my first honorium. I still have a photocopy of the $50 check. I couldn't believe I got paid to preach! Nights like this bring me back to why I'm doing what I'm doing. It's certainly not for money :)
