Publisher Meeting
I just spent more than five hours with a publisher that flew in to town. We're in negotiations for my next book. This is new territory for me so I sort of feel like I'm navigating without a map. But today's meeting was great. I felt like we were able to talk through writing passions and goals for the next few years. I really want to find a like-minded publisher. I think they "get me." And I love their team of authors. They're working with some of my role models in ministry.
By the way, when I got home Summer said, "Did you get your book published today?"
If only it was a one day process :)
It'll probably be 8-12 months before this book hits the market. I'm getting an education in the editorial and marketing process behind a book! That's probably the toughest part for me. I want the book published yesterday :)
One day at a time!

Pastor Mark, thank you for your honesty. I know how you feel. You are my role model for my dreams.
I've been trying to get this cheesecake business and a dream I;ve had for a ministry up and running for quite awhile (ministry dream, around 10 years and business around 3 oe 4 years). I thought I they were dead...thought I had given up on both hope around 1 year and a half ago, until I came to NCC and my hope was rekindled by you telling me to dream God-size dreams and then showing me how to do it.
I believe that one of the reasons I am at NCC is to hear and see your dreams come alive so that my hope is renewed and I believe that I am to take part in making them come alive while I am waiting for mine to do the same! I try to do this every chance I get.
Anyway, thanks for being my inspiration! Thank you for your transparency and honesty! Man! I love my church!
That's awesome bro!
