Rocket Rides

I have a new definition of pure joy.

I took Parker and Summer to soccer practice tonight. While they practiced, Josiah and I played on the sidelines. We played a bowling game on the sidewalk. He sat in the driver's seat of our mini-van and pushed every button. We got dizzy doing helicopters. But the highlight was rocket rides.

All my kids have loved being thrown up into the air and caught on the way down. It's especially fun when they're little because I can throw them into the stratosphere pretty high. For what it's worth, I've never missed my kids on the way down! In the Batterson family we call them rocket rides. I wish I had a vlog of Josiah's face. Pure joy. He was kicking his legs and flailing his arms. He was smiling from ear to ear. And, of course, he didn't want to stop.

I wonder if that's what the rapture will be like. A rocket ride. Except you don't come back down :)

My son, Joshua, loves rocket rides. He's only 6 1/2 months old, but he loves them and the smile on his face is worth more than just about anything. Good way of looking at the rapture.
