Unique Week

Monday, September 19th got off to an interesting start.

I overheard Lora telling Summer that there would never be another September 19, 2005. And she started rattling off what was so unique about this day. It got me thinking about the uniqueness of each day, each week, each month.

I've got to admit, I'm walking into this week with rare excitement.

I'm meeting with a publisher who is flying into town on Wednesday. I feel as called to write as I do to pastor. So finding the right publisher for my next book is of huge importance. I think this meeting could be one of those "one small step/one giant leap" deals. At least that's what I'm hoping and praying for. I've had numerous discussions with several great publishing houses, but the publisher I'm meeting with this week is top drawer. They'd definitely be on my wish list.

I have a podcast interview with Terry Storch on Friday. I love that guy! I like talking with people who are even crazier than I am :) Terry is a leading voice in the blog revolution.

And I'm meeting with a movie producer who is coming into town this week. One of my passions is redeeming the entertainment industry and producing short films and eventually feature films. That's one of my "crazy ideas" that I covertly referenced in Sunday's message. This is one that will take some time. I'm not sure when or where the entry point will be. But evotion media will happen sooner or later.

I'm hyper-passionate about all of the above so I'm jazzed about this week.

Plus, this is one of those sermon series where I can't wait for Sunday to roll around :)

I think I miss NCC now more than ever. Church-hunting stinks b/c nothing is ever going to be as great as NCC.

i thought i'd throw a bit of anonymous encouragement up here for you, Selina:
you're right - church hunting stinks. and you may be right that other churches won't be as great as NCC, but it's important to remember that each church is great at something. a little over a year ago, i was a member of a small Southern Baptist, tight-knit, hymn-loving church in Kansas. the year before that, i was a part a passionate family of believers at a Cambodian Friends church in California (we move a lot). church hunting is not my favorite pasttime, but through it God has taught me how big, small, loud, quiet, and amazingly diverse & unique his Church is. He'll find you a place to be -- it may be different than NCC, but it will be just what you need, right now.

Can I be your stunt double for all the dangerous stunts you do in the movies? I have always wanted to jump out of planes and leap off tall buildings. That would be awesome.

Hi Mark,
I'm sorry if I'm putting this in the wrong place. I loved your discussion at the district NEXT conference. Re: the GODpods, if you need some more songs to put on them, I could pull some strings to get talented independent and signed artists to maybe sell 1-2 of best songs for .10/song or something on them, in order for you to get things started. Just a thought.

At a secular coffeehouse in Manassas, I'm working on booking some of the best local talent from 4 genres (rock, hip hop/r&b, classical/jazz/celtic, pop) from top local artists who are Christians too. I've got team leaders for each of those genres. Maybe we can mix something with your coffee house church when it starts.

All this is related to Christian clubs on middle/high school.

God bless,

Jonathan Woodard

Jonathan,

We're definitely looking to add worship music as a preload option. A couple ideas:

1) A customized preloaded iPod for different bands

2) A mix of worship songs--maybe one song from a variety of bands as a "worship sampler."

Thanks for taking the time to touch base.

Feel free to email me @ Mark@theaterchurch.com.
