Two Degrees of Seperation

I never cease to be amazed at the way technology "randomly" brings people together. It's the death of distance. In the real world, there are six degrees of seperation. In the blogosphere and podsphere it's reduced to two degrees of seperation.

I just met Jeff Hook, the CEO of Fellowship Technologies. We introduced ourselves and he said, "I was listening to your podcast with Terry Storch on the stairmaster two days ago."

Then John Jay Wilson stopped by our booth. I knew his name, but I've never met him. He told me he's been reading the evotionals. I met a bunch of blog readers throughout the day today.

It's sort of surreal, but technology fosters so many cool connections.

I think there was a fear when the Internet was born that people would stop connecting face-to-face and just veg behind their computers. We obviously need to be high tech and high touch. But if it's done right, technology fosters relationship.
