Virtual Watercool
I was talking with some of the team from Christ Fellowship (www.cftoday.org) down in West Palm Beach today. Great guys!!! They've got it going on :)
I was telling them about my blog and one of them said a blog is like a virtual watercooler. Man, I loved that. Alot. What a great description. A watercool is where colleagues gather in a workplace to shoot the breeze. My blog serves lots of functions, but one of them is shooting the breeze :)
I was thinking about "virtual watercoolers" all day and then I thought back to the way ancient wells served the same purpose. They were the gathering place for communities. That's where people would come to shoot the breeze and quench their thirst.
A well is an ancient watercooler. Or a watercool is a modern well. One way or the other, a blog is both. Take your pick: ancient well or virtual watercooler.
Pop the can. Guzzle some Spirit fuel :)
Bottom's up.

Chris
C'mon now!! That's what I'm talking about Chris. :)
PM...
A few years ago NCC surveyed our congregation for potential names for the coffeehouse. While I know that "Ebenezer's" is the God-inspired name for the coffeehouse, I thought I would share with you the name I put down on the survey for the coffeehouse.
I thought the name ought to be "Jacob's Well." And what came to my mind when I thought of Jacob's Well was the story where Jesus met the woman at the well -- and he told her that as long as she drank that water she would thirst again, but if she drank the water that He offered she would never thirst again. This story inspired the thought that our coffeehouse would not only pour cups of coffee but also and more importantly pour "cups of spiritual blessing."
Your encounter with the team from Christian Fellowship and their sharing with you the term "Virtual Watercooler" stirred-up my memory about Jacob's Well and the ultimate virtual/reality watercooler/coffeehouse called Ebenezer's -- what a WELL the Lord has done given us whether it operates in a real and/or virtual capacity. :)
I'm still going to call Ebenezer's "The Fourth Place."
