Mark, great coverage. One thing of note, the article says anyone with an ipod can download. To help "evangelize" podcasting we need to make sure those who don't fully understand, that podcasts can be listened to on their PC or other mp3 player. I think a lot of people just think that because they don't have an Ipod they ignore the whole idea of subscribing. Just a thought, I think if more people caught on, it would reach a whole new level of media evangelism.
Jason, I think you make a great point. Pastor Mark usually mentions the "...or download it to your computer and listen to it there" phrase when talking about podcasting, but I think in this case the Channel 9 folks were looking for the quick soundbite. It sounded like maybe the computer download part ended up on the cutting room floor.
I saw this last night and thought it was a great story as well. I have a background in broadcasting and even though it wasn't in the first segment before commercials the story did air BEFORE the weather which is the most popular part of any newscast, so let's hear it for godcasting! Plus they teased it a bunch of times during CSI: Miami. PM, as always, you did a great job and it was fun seeing people I knew. I brag about NCC all the time.
We've been very intentional about building relationships with the media over the years.
We'll talk about it at our Buzz conference some, but if anything deserves PR it's the gospel :) The good news ought to be "newsworthy."
I'd recommend starting small. If you're doing an outreach event let the print and TV media know about it. Put the ball in their court and see if they want to cover the story.
Of course, it ultimately boils down to God's favor! Pray for favor and you'll find favor in some amazing ways!

I'm only required to watch the news up until the weather since we know that anything after that doesn't really matter....
