Sunday Reflections
Very rarely do I go two weeks in a row without preaching, but Dick Foth did a two-part series to give me a little breather. Today's message was one of the best Christmas messages I've ever heard. I love Dick's summary of the Christmas message:
Jesus left his place. He came to our place. He took our place. And He invites us back to His place.
Jesus left his place. He came to our place. He took our place. And He invites us back to His place.

Pastor Mark,
I'm new to this and have no idea if I'm doing it right. However, I wanted to commend you and the church for a great worship experience this morning. I enjoyed Dr Foth as well. I have never heard him when he was not supurb. We do not live in the DC area. If we did...even though we are 60+, we would feel very blessed to be able to attend the Theater Church. We appreciated the altar service. That is left out far too often. We were not sure where to go this morning to find you, so a staff member came out to the street by your offices to meet us and help direct us to the service. We appreciated the "extra mile" effort. O'...the chocolate frosted donut was really good too.
Yeah, um, mega props for Foth!!! Loved the visual imagery he used!

I had a couple people from JCFC here in west des moines out at NCC last weekend. They said Dick did amazing.
They loved NCC and came back with amound of ideas! Interestingly enough, one of the greatest ideas solved one of our biggest problems. It is simply your "no taking kids to the bathroom policy during kids church." Brilliant. Solves everything!
Thoroughly enjoyed meeting them. Glad the visit helped :)

I also thought Dr. Foth was fantastic. His description of childbirth, and the humane side of Christ coming to earth was fantastic. He's a brilliant storyteller.
I agree... is his message downloadable on God-ipod? Is there any way to get a video recording of his message?
We're podcasting it. You can subscribe on the right-menu or go to iTunes and search for theaterchurch.com.
We don't have video, but we'll start video podcasting in 2006.
