Coffeehouse Update

We're about T-Minus 3 weeks till our coffeehouse is finished. We've got a long "to do" list, but I can almost taste the coffee :)

One of the "space signatures" is our copper ductwork. Another signature is the train tracks in the floor. The main level is going to look sweet.

Our water hookup happens tomorrow so we'll be able to flush our toilets!

The elevator is almost finished. It's been amazing to see them assemble the elevator. They basically went into the elevator shaft and constructed it there.

The dream is almost reality!

I am reading through Numbers right now and I read Numbers 8:2 with a new appreciation. The Israelites are finishing up the Tabernacle and God gives some interior design instructions. "Tell Aaron that when he sets up the seven lamps in the lampstand, he is to place them so their light shines forward."

I laughed when I read that because we're making lots of lighting adjustments--both the way the track lighting hangs and the light fixtures themselves. I want it just right. I was feeling bad about being so particular until I read Numbers 8:2. God wanted the lights just right. So do I :)

Numbers 8:4 says, "The entire lampstand, from its base to its decorative blossoms, was made of beaten gold. It was built according to the exact design the Lord has shown Moses."

All of that to say this: aesthetics are important.

Never fear making construction changes. You are spending the money it needs to be right. It is the mark you are beginning with. I have been on both sides of the building process (on smaller scales) and yes it does make the contracter crazy sometimes, but you are sending the money not him. He is being paid to make you happy!

I think Ebenzers is fantastic. I love the concept, and we were discussing marketplace ideas last night in out life group and Ebenezers was brought up here in West Des Moines, IA! awesome.
