Buzz Reflections: Day 1
What a day! I'm definitely running on fumes.
It's hard to describe how I felt today, but it sort of felt like a horse in the starting gate that is champing at the bit to bust out of that gate and race around the track.
A couple highlights from Day One.
It was so cool to see the synnergy amongst attenders. It seemed so spontaneous. You would have thought that everybody there were old friends :) I think there is a real like-minded group of attendees.
The theater church forum was too cool. To have 70+ theater church pastors was historical. It's the first gathering of its kind. Hopefully it's a catalyst.
It was cool having Ed Young at Buzz. I don't just respect Ed Young. I like the dude. He's got a huge heart for the church-at-large. It meant alot that he would come out and help us kick off Buzz.
The highlight of the day for me may have been the Buzz Film Festival. I was totally blown away by the level of artistry and originality. There were hilarious videos. I loved the Healing Place parking attendant spoof! The baptism video from Granger Community Church was epic. And the trailers from Summit Creek Baptist Church were off the chain. I was standing there thinking to myself there is hope for the church! I felt like I was seeing the future.
Serious props to our volunteers. I can't believe how many people took off work to volunteer at the conference! A-mazing.
Very cool to meet so many pastors I've heard of or bumped into in the blogosphere. I just wish I had a little more time to have a conversation with everybody at the conference :)
Gotta gear up for Day 2.
Out.

Wow, that sounds amazing! Talk about doing work for the Lord's Kingdom.
I can only imagine the amazing things that will come as a result of this conference.
Mark,
Day one was off the hook! Can't wait for day two.
It truly is a good day in the kingdom. (For what it is worth, I very much dislike it when people say that, but it seemed fitting. ha)

I'm going to sit here and hold my breath 'til you post some of those videos...
....
......you think I'm kidding...
I'm not...I'm rea...
I echo the praise for your staff and volunteers. They were buzz-worthy themselves... One gal volunteer walked by us on the sidewalk leading to Ebeneezers and simply said, "Buzz buzz."
Kinda like "Nanoo nanoo."
Or "Pizza pizza."
Awesome =) ~ Ben Arment
great conference, just wish your staff could have done better, i mean its like they didnt do a thing....
:)
this was amazing, i love how it contained all levels of churches here, from GCC to guys getting ready to launch.
amazingly authentic
thanks for being remarkable
I just arrived home in WV. Thanks for a great conference. You guys had our staff talking all the way home. Props to your staff and to all of your hard work.
We came.
We buzzed.
We conquered.
Hm ... reminds me of Jesus. Talk about a guy who has created some serious buzz.
really really really great job. no way y'all don't have some southern in you. your team was working the hospitality like crazy.
give everyone a huge raise. and give the volunteers a big retreat to tahiti or something. they deserve it.
oh, wait. there's a service saturday night.
thanks for making the buzz happen. y'all are incredible. i loved getting to see what i think we already knew at HPC - that you guys are full of a passion for the poor and hurting and that's what connects us at such a strong level.
love y'all. keep buzzin' and give 'em Heaven saturday night.
My staff loved it and they were wondering if we could get some feedback from the video judges on our videos. (Just trying to make them better.)
Hey Rob-
Shoot me an email with your church info and we will get you some feedback on your video.
Also, I think we will be posting the Judging Forms on the Buzz website soon (the generic form-- not everyone's results)
Big thanks again to everyone who submitted. They were all great!
Mark and everyone at NCC.
Thanks for gathering us crazy people together. We fit right in, and even that was encouraging!
The whole conference was like a Red Bull. May I say that without ever trying the product?
We've been doing "multi-site" and "theater church" for a year now. That is our second campus is in a movie theater, and the third one in the works. The passion is always there, but the going is tought at times, especially if one is intentional about hanging out @ wells, offending pharisees, and cursing baren figtrees.
This past Sunday, the point pastor of our movie theater campus preached live (switching to week-delay video). She is known to be passionate, but, oh man, this is going to be Velveeta cheesy.... Buzz gave her wings!
Hope to be back next year. Hooked.
