Book Cover
We're inching closer to a final cover design for In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day. Just thought I'd share the latest draft.
This process of designing a book cover is so tough because you want it to be "perfect" but it is such a subjective thing. I feel really good about the look and feel, but you never know what is going to pop off the shelf at the bookstore.

I think that the side of the cover that goes over the spine of the book is the most important thing for grabbing attention at a bookstore, because books aren't normally shelved in such a way that you see the front cover to begin with.
Of course, once someone takes a book off the shelf it's good to get a second good impression from the cover.
That said, I'm looking forward to reading your book, regardless of the artwork!
I like the colors. I think the white, black and gold/yellow will really pop (or soda)!
I like it alot.
It's creative, clean and stands out.
Good luck, I for sure will buy one and support your vision!
That's "popolicious"!
Nice cover! Even more important than the cover, though, is the way the book smells. Does anyone else out there like the smell of a new book? My wife always makes fun of me because I like to smell my books. There's the brand-new-high-quality-paper smell, the yellowed-published-in-the-50s smell, the cheap-binding-and-newsprint smell...
Ah, the things we admit in cyberspace!
Mark, I'm looking forward to reading...and smelling...your book.
I've never bought a book based on how it looked. I just read the title and subtitle and will probably be buying it just because of reading your blog and the testimony of what God's been doing in your church.
But the cover's cool. :-)
I think the colors were picked out because they match up with the Superbowl Champion Pittsburg Steelers.
The cover is eyecatching. Great job!
