Fall Semester

I just spent the last half hour reading our Small Group Guide for the Fall Semester. We hand it out next weekend, August 26-27.

Once again, I'm blown away by the variety and creativity of our leaders. We've got 75+ small groups this semester. And each one is an amazing opportunity for spiritual growth. I really feel like small groups make us who we are as a church.

To CMC... wouldn't dream of offering advice when it comes to small groups, I've tried leading but can't claim to have done it particularly well, but I do know where to go to get some insight. Check out the link to “Wineskins for Discipleship” under the “Staff Links” on this site, and from there go to “Small Group Resources” on the right-hand side. Lots of stuff there that will help, I imagine. When all is said and done, though, keep in mind that it's not up to you-- you're just one part of the 'body' that is the group. Take care of your role, and give the rest to Him. Good luck, and God bless...

I think www.zonegathering.com would be a great resource. It's designed for our small group leaders at NCC, but might be a helpful resource.

Hey CMC-

I coordinate the small groups here at NCC and would be happy to talk to you about leadership. Zonegathering.com is a resource for our leaders. And discipleshipgroups.blogspot.com contains other resources that might be helpful.

The main thing is to take advantage of the training/resources offered by your church or campus ministry. Willow Creek has a great resource, Leading Life-Changing Small Groups.
