One of the things I did during my session, Carpe Digital: Using Emerging Technology to Reach Emerging Generations, was share some emails I've received from podcast listeners and blog readers all around the world. I never ceased to be amazed at the way God is using the theaterchurch.com podcast.
While I was speaking I got this email:
Pastor Mark,
I'm from the midwest and currently a university student in Washington, DC. I've been a faithful member of National Community Church for two years now, and it holds a huge place in my heart. I must admit that once you started releasing the sermons as Podcasts, I thought the idea was a little silly. But now as I'm sitting behind my computer in Santiago de Chile, I've definitely changed my mind.
I'm studying here this semester, and I did not realize how hard it would be for me to find a church. I've found the NCC podcast to be a big blessing and a wonderful extension of the church I've come to know and love so much. It's crazy how specifically the past few messages have spoken to me, and I am just so grateful that I can still hear them from 5000 miles away. So, thank you. And you're welcome to come up with many more "silly" ideas. I look forward to returning in January!
If it's worth preaching it's worth podcasting!
