In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day
One week from today! That is when In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day comes off the press!
Here's the $64,000 question for an author: how do you ask someone to buy your book? I honestly don't know how :) So here goes. Would you buy my book :) In fact, would you consider buying two copies of the book on October 2nd? If you like the book you can give the copy to a friend. If you don't like the book you can give it to an enemy. Either way you win :)
Here's an amazon link.
If you can't wait till October 2nd go for it :) But I would love to turn October 2nd into Amazon Day. I'll post a reminder and a link next Monday, October 2nd.
Feel free to share the link :)
Mucho Thanks!

Hey Mark...
I'll buy one copy of your book no matter what. I bet it rocks. I'll buy two copies of your book if you take the sound effect off your blog. :)
... Kem Meyer
Kem,
You opened the can. Pun intended.
Alright, let's get an official poll going here :)
The downside to the sound is that you get busted at work everytime you go to evotional.com :)
The upside is that it is so thirst-quenching :)
Mark
Just ordered! (Pre-ordered)
Can't wait to read - I'm a daily evotional reader! Thanks for your ministry, Mark.
I'll get to see Ebenezers...coming to conference on the 19th! Looking forward to it!
Look forward to meeting Rick!
Mark
Ok. PM I love your blog. But I HATE the sound on your blog. Everyone in my house was complaining every time I clicked in for an update on church happenings. I thought it was so cool the first time. Can we have an option button so we can just disable it? It is cool. Just not maybe for a regular like me. And no Tim Elzea, you can't say I'm addicted.
For what it's worth, I plan to buy tons of your books. I'd buy cases like last time if I got a volume discount! Is there a volume discount? :)

Will definitely order a copy of the new book. I'm half way through ID: The True You, which I picked up after I heard you speak at the Innocative Church Conference 2006. And also am enjoying the podcast. You have an exciting way of communicating that we matter to God.

I've started my extended family on the PM collection so they will be thrilled to get a new book to add to it - lots of birthdays coming up so I imagine I'll be buying up a few ;-) Can't wait to read it!
p.s. I too somewhat cringe everytime I hear the soda can sound...wish there was a way to incorporate a "choose your own sound" on blogs...you know like those old choose your own adventure books ;-) yes, that would be neat.
The sound makes the blog...my friends know when I'm reading and come check out what new thing Mark has said...you gotta keep the sound
Um, do none of you guys have a volume switch on your computers?? If you don't like the sound, turn it down. Seriously, folks...
Without the sound effect we wouldn't be able to stage a surpise "mass opening of the blog" sequence on a randomly unnanouced day in a random coffeshop near Union Station, on Capitol Hill.
Just sayin'
It was great hearing you speak at the ICC this year. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to shake your hand. I can't wait for the book. I'm buying several copies for gifts. I have no doubt it will sell well. More importantly, I have no doubt it will reach an audience who needs to hear it's message.
It's an honor to serve God along side you.
AHHHHH! Can't wait to read this Mark, the cover looks amazing! This is a giant leep for the church and the ministry, so pumped to get this book in people's hands over here in Scotland.
Again, hate the sound... and yes I could just turn it down, but its very annoying when I'm listening to something else (eg a podcast) while looking at the blog! Can't wait to read the book...
So, Batterson...
Whadda ya say? I'll raise the stakes... I'll buy FIVE books if you turn off the sound.

Mark, just so you know. It's one thing to be in a pit with a lion on a snowy day. It's a completely different thing to be in a pit with Kem Meyer regarding blogging protocol. You've met your match.
(For the record, I also think the sound needs to go.)

Hey Mark, first time poster :) I Read your evotional regularly. Huge fan! I've pre-ordered your new book and am looking forward to kicking back in my office and reading it! Can't wait :)
Love the first chapter, and when paychecks permit I'll definitely order some copies for Christmas gifts. As ingenious as the sound is, I wouldn't miss it whenever I want to "open" your blog and listen to music simultaneously.
Kem,
You keep upping the ante :) I bet you're a good poker player!
I'm leaning toward a mute site :)
Mark
Mark,
I'll send you a copy of my receipt.

Hey there Mark
On order for the 30th October publishing here in the UK. If it is as inspiring and informative as the podcasts then it will be well recieved in this little backwater of England.
Hope to get you over here one day to do the right brain stuff for all my emerging leaders
Blessya
Paul
We just pre-ordered a copy, Mark. Can't wait to read it! Love the evotionals....
