Teleportation

I'm not posting my entire session from the Ministrycom Conference, but I thought I would share one of my podcast metaphors.

Podcasting is teleportation.

Do you remember the story in Acts 8? An angel tells Philip to go south. So Philip heads toward Gaza and crosses paths with the Ethiopian Eunuch. He hears him reading Isaiah; hops into his chariot; and ends up baptizing him. The Eunuch becomes the first missionary to Ethiopia and Philip teleports to Azotus.

That story is a microcosm of podcasting.

I do what Philip did everyday. I hop into people's chariots as they commute to work via our theaterchurch.com podcast. They're headed south on the beltway and I hang out with them for a half hour. Or I sit next to them on the metro. And when they turn off their iPod or change play lists I just teleport back to my office.

Podcasting is teleporting all around the world all the time.

I can't imagine a more exciting time to be doing ministry!

There are ways of doing church that no one has thought of yet!

Your session rocked Mark! A great start to a really solid two days of teaching and resource. Thanks for being a prophet of the digital age.

Here are my notes, blogged live from CCV on Thursday.
