Donald and Rick had a conversation with some pretty profound insights.
"We're lighthouses in the light."
What an image. We're called to invade darkness! We protect the gospel instead of proclaiming it. And if you simply protect the gospel you lose your voice.
The culture feels like we don't like them. And by transference, they feel like God doesn't like them. We've got to change the perception!
One last thought.
Legalism is a cop out. It takes discernment out of the equation. We don't trust people so we get all legalistic! Where is the discernment in the church? Maybe we need to rely on the Holy Spirit to help us navigate the narrow straights of morality?
Less legalism. More discernment.

WOO-HOO! Preach it, Pastor Mark. That is right on "T". I'm going to share this with our Ministry Solutions team, thank you for that word(via Brothers Miller and McKinley).
right on.
more discernment-
because to me, relying on legalism means that you don't trust yourself, or trust someone else, to hear from God-
so legalism boils down to a lack of faith that God will lead us through the Holy Spirit in a way that we will understand and implement.
obedience comes out of love for God- this is the base.
you can then choose to carry this out through discernment of legalism...
and i think God would rather see you fail a few times and keep seeking discernment from Him, then to uphold a rigid structue that attempts to quarrantine sin.

Hey Mark, thanks a lot for the constant catalyst updates. Keep up the great work!

Mark, thanks for the conference updates. It's weird, it feels like we're at the conferences that you post about and a big plus that we can share with our fellow peeps. Enjoyed your multi-site breakout session and main session with Perry Noble at Granger. Almost finished with ID: The True You and can't wait to get my hands on In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day. Awesome stuff!
AMEN AMEN AMEN!!!!!
