Lion Chasers, Church Planters, & A Free Book

So here's the deal. My birthday is November 5th. And to celebrate I want to give a reverse birthday gift. I want to give a free copy of In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day to any church planter who emails me before November 5 because I remember what it was like to have zero resource budget as a church planter.

Shoot me an email with your address to mark@theaterchurch.com.

Had a little email dialogue with J.R. Briggs last week. He's the author of When God says Jump. J.R. asked me a great question: who do you think are some of the most courageous lion chasers in the Christian faith today--famous or not?

I didn't have to think about it: church planters.

Planting a church is such a quantum risk occupationally, emotionally, and financially. It ranks as one of the scariest things I've ever done. I'd honestly like to get a copy of In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day into the hands of every church planter in America. Not sure how to do that. But this is a start. Feel free to spread the word.

Keep chasing lions!

Did you know that in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-Earth, Hobbits do this very thing for their birthday? Instead of receiving gifts from others, you give a small gift to everyone you know. Consequently, instead of receiving a bunch of gifts on one day, you receive one gift every few days!! You're like Bilbo Baggins!

Having read your book and now recommending it to everyone in my church and strangers....I met my daughters 2nd Grade Teachers husband this weekend and we talked a great deal about what he's facing in his church and your book put me in a position to encourage him. It was so great to see his face light up when I shared some of your thoughts in your book. Your gift to church planters will be a great tool! I think your book is more than great material, it really is a great tool! God bless your generosity...

Have grown up in the A/G, I have both given and received the "Pentecostal handshake."

Awesome idea Mark. Having read the book I think it will encourage and inspire church planters to dream big dreams for God even when you look a little foolish. I love it when David says, "I will become even more undignified than this." Also, as church planter, 'free' is my favorite price.

I just read, In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day, and loved it! It was great to read through, and really feel inspired about what challenges I'm taking on right now. Thank you so much for chasing this lion, and making a difference for so many people!
