Had a luncheon with Donald Miller and Rick McKinley. It was a Q & A setup. Love some of the things they shared.
Rick said, "Church planters have no people so they sit around and type up vision statements." That is so funny because I still have the 25-year vision paper for our failed church plant attempt in Chicago. Lots of vision. Very few people :)
Donald shared some great thoughts about writing. He said, "Writers love to have written." He talked a little bit about his writing ryhthm. He can't write on a day he has meetings. Totally resonate with that. He also has writing seasons. In case you're interested, if he writes 1000 words in a day he can sleep at night. If he writes 1500 he goes nuts!
