Amazing Grace Screening

Just screened Amazing Grace at Ebenezers--the story of William Wilberforce and the abolition of the slave trade in England. Can't possibly put into words how this movie moved me. I held back tears seven times and felt goose bumps three times. That's my measure of a good movie!

Movies leave an impression. Here was my impression--it renewed my faith in the fact that one person can change the course of history. I think we all believed that as kids. But at some point most of us lose faith in ourselves. Or more accurately, we lose faith in God in us!

We're going to encourage every NCCer to go see the movie.

I love the Michelangelo motto: criticize by creating. I'd rather celebrate what's right than criticize what's wrong. The church needs to rally around this movie!

Check out the trailer.

Hello. I would love to attend the film screening, but I am going to a training tomorrow morning. I would like to talk to you after you see it though because I work for an anti-slavery/trafficking organization called The Emancipation Network. We are one of the "heroes" sponsored by Amazing Grace and Walden Media. I would love to know what you think of the movie and if there is any way we can arrange an awareness event for Theater Church. We just had one at Discovery Church in Orlando, FL and it was a huge success. You can contact me at becky@madebysurvivors.com. Thanks!

Mark,
Thanks for opening the store to us. I loved the movie and was glad we got to see it. We're recommending it to Severn River Church as well.

To help the movie in the best way, it is best to encourage people to see the movie on the first weekend. Studios pay particular attention to opening weekend sales and whether to give the movie further promotion or a wider release.

Awesome movie! Thanks for the opportunity. We checked out what theaters locally will be showing the movie opening weekend and plan to pass the info along to other local pastors. Also, it was great to check out Ebenezer's and get to talk to Heather. Your staff has been extremely helpful with all our questions! What a blessing.

One unrelated question...does Lora happen to blog? I'm looking for more pastor's wives blogs to check out...
