What a great holiday week.
Had a blast hanging with the homies! I'm writing like the wind these days trying to hit a January 15 manuscript deadline, but it was also really relaxing getting a few days off. Needed the chill pill.
We hit the United States Botanical Gardens last week. Did you know peppermint is generally regarded as the world's oldest medicine? It also counteracts sleepiness!
We finished our Rocky marathon with Rocky IV. If that training scene in Siberia doesn't get you fired up your wood is wet! Summer actually downloaded Eye of the Tiger and the Training Montage onto her iPod after watching the movie. Can't wait to see her swim times after listening to those songs!
The Batterson family did a little bowling last week. Gotta love those bumpers! It took us almost an hour to play one game--that is how slow the kids rolled the bowling ball down the alley! But Josiah almost cracked 100. Loved his little dance move after each roll.
We wrapped things up with some home videos. Made me a little melancholy! I honestly don't feel that old. What reminds me that I'm getting older is seeing my kids grow up before my eyes! So cute to see your kids missing their two front teeth!
Topped off New Year's Day with some homemade ice cream! Nothing like it.
