What a Weekend

I think we pulled it off :)

Our coffeehouse was out of control today! I think we had 200+ in the performance space for our 11:15 @ Ebenezers plus another 50+ overflow on the main coffeehouse level. And the other service was about the same! We really tried to redirect people to Saturday night and our Ballston location, but it was jam packed.

Craziness squared.

Can I admit something? It was actually sort of fun.

Don't get me wrong. It was a headache. And I sure hope we're back to three locations next weekend. But every once in a while it's good to disrupt the routine. Keep people from going through the motions.

Awfully glad our coffeehouse is half a block from Union Station.

We lived out our core value today: expect the unexpected.

Pastor Mark,
I just stumbled onto your site. WOW! Great Stuff! (D.C.)? What a needy place for a meaningful work of God. I pray God continues to bless you guys. We just started (restarted) a new church in Front Royal, Va.(June 06) If you would ever have time for a cup of coffee, I would love to pick your brain. I'll make plans to visit on an upcoming Sat. service.

Hey Mark,

So, when does Ebenezer's actually crack it's fire code limit?

Have you tried the new Blogger hosting service? I recently moved a blog from FTP hosting to Blogger's new Custom Domains service, and I have to say, it's really nice.

Randall,

Good to make your blog acquaintance! Love to connect sometime.

Also, might want to check out our Buzz Conference in June since you're a local :)

Tim,

I'm still "old school" but I may need to switch over :)

PM -- It was full on craziness but you're right, but it was kind of fun. Having so many people who don't usually come to a service at Ebs made it feel like a spontaneous gathering of people worshiping God with such intensity. It was amazing and great. (but let's not do it again next week, k?) haha

PM - I can only imagine the logistical madness that you and the NCC staff must have had to deal with this past weekend.

But I loved your "it was kind of fun" comment. It's uplifting that you're able to have that kind of perspective on a difficult situation.

Thanks for continuing to be an example.

Yes what a weekend at NCC, but, I would have to say that I truly enjoyed the God on Broadway, Friday night at Ebenezer's. If you missed it, too bad. It was great to see how God uses people for his glory even in the theater. I hope you do it again, would love to see another God on Broadway at NCC.
