Last Practice

Bookmark and Share

We had our last practice of the season. Bitter sweet :) Part of me is ready for a little breather in my schedule. Three time slots a week for b-ball is pretty intensive. But I've enjoyed it so much that I'm already looking forward to 08.

A few thoughts at the end of the season:

I wanted the kids to love the game of basketball more than they did at the beginning of the season. Mission accomplished.

Very cool to see ten individuals become a team!

I'm proud of the fact that kids started implementing what they learned in practice into games! So gratifying to see your coaching pay off that way! They were actually pump faking and fast breaking!

The kids learned how to win and how to lose.

By the end of the season, I was able to see the unique contribution each player brings to the team.

I think the kids are more confident as players and people.

On a personal note, I feel like coaching has helped my pastoring!

As a fellow coach (ice hockey), I can relate! I think coaches can have such a lasting impact on kids and sounds like you succeeded in that one too!!
