Seven Keys to Maximizing Your Environment

I'm doing a session on maximizing environments this afternoon. Thought I'd post the outline in advance. One of our most important and most difficult jobs as leaders is creating the right culture. Here are seven keys to creating the right culture:

#1 Be Yourself

Culture starts with knowing who you are and who you're not.

#2 Stay Positive
#3 Establish Boundaries
#4 Little Things are Big Things

1%
of what you do makes 99% of the difference

#5 Think like a Guest
#6 Exceed Expectations

Good isn't good enough.

#7 Cast Vision Like Crazy

Hey Mark,

I am currently a student at Valley Forge Christian College and I wanted to first thank you for the word that you brought during chapel a few weeks ago - the message changed my life and my outlook on the ministry God is calling me to.
I am currently part of a Theatre Church myself in Doylestown, PA under Pastor Craig Lauterbach and I serve on the Student Ministries team alongside my good friend Jon Brooker.
I was wondering if we could possibly start talking back and forth, on your free time, as a possible mentoring relationship as I prepare to develop my passion anc heart for Church Planting later in life. My e-mail is currently ejspanier@vfcc.edu and I would love a response when you get a free minute to just touch base. I really enjoy your podcasts and am inspired by what God is doing through you and your team in Washington, DC. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

God Bless

Mark, Great talk about creating culture.

By the way, I love that baptism video. It was kinda funny seeing it today. The hue on the projector must have been off because it looked like you were wearing a hot pink hat and shirt. funny!

Mark,

Really enjoyed your session today. Very valuable lessons, especially for a young guy like me. I appreciate your firm commitment to your family, and how you flesh that out with your boundaries. Well done.

It was also great to put a face (besides in digital space) to the man behind the book/blog. Looking forward to the rest of the week.
