She Drives Me Crazy
I was just walking through the coffeehouse and I had one of those music flashbacks that all of us have. I heard a song on the radio I've haven't heard in at least a decade. Here is a little known fact about Mark Batterson. My better judgment says "keep it a secret."
She Drives Me Crazy by the Fine Young Cannibals was my favorite song for a short period of time in the 1980's. And yes, I sang it in falsetto at the top of my lungs!
Here's a YouTube link. Has to be one of the all-time worst music videos!
Any other song confessions out there?

I'll admit it - I still rock out to "U Can't Touch This" in the car driving to work!
...and maybe Van Halen "Jump" too......
"Eternal Flame" by The Bangles remains in heavy rotation on my iPod.
My brother and I loved that song growing up.
I can't believe I wrote that. Don't I have to kill myself on a samurai sword to regain my family honor now?
No way. I was just rocking out to this at work today as well. Crazy. No pun intended.

How crazy is that!! I heard it while I pumped gas (my first job)
at Texaco.

whoooooooooo
Just heard "Let's Hear It For the Boy" a couple weeks ago and was so inspired I posted the lyrics as a tribute to my hubby. I walked around all day singing it, and my kids rolled their eyes and said "Oh, P-LEASE Mom!"
My 20 year old nephew danced around in his diaper to this song when he was two... singing as only a two year old can!
Great memory... we're getting old, though. (80s rule!)
Oh my! How we date ourselves. But I have to say, yes, I loved the FYC and the hit!
All have to say is - love is a battlefield...
Darren if you're reading this - I'll buy a pound of BGB coffee if you can sing at least one line of the chorus tomorrow.
I'll admit it Mark. I like She Drives Me Crazy. Don't be embrassed.
Here's a secret, I know all the words to Ice Ice Baby.
Blogs were born from the desire to violate all better judgement.

Uhh... my name is Brad... and I was a Poison fan. Leave me alone... it was seventh grade... and I thought they were chicks... and Talk Dirty to Me had a great hook... Jesus forgave me!
Hey, I first heard that song as the "theme music" for Mary Katharine Ham's video blog at Townhall. The video was a trip.
I like a lot of 80's music -- even though I'm 24. I'm actually about 10 years behind in my cultural upbringing because I was home-schooled and listened to a lot of the stuff my parents had bought on CD when it first came out. Then after some point I skipped ahead to the 00's. The 90's just didn't do much for me....
Thanks for the fun link!
Jared -- I confess to being a homeschooler about 200 years behind in cultural upbringing ... I listened exlusively to classical music until I was 19 and had never sung a praise chorus until I went to college. I'm remarkably well adjusted for such a loser, let me tell you.
How about I Want My MTV? Growing up overseas we didn't even know what MTV was at the time!
Oh, and Beth, I believe the first line is:
We are young, heartache to heartache we stand
NO PROMISES, NO DEMANDS
When I was back in college, I was listening to a classic rock station in my car one night before going into a Christian Student Union meeting. After I was in the room, I still had the song that I was listening to in my head. Without thinking about the lyrics, I sung at the top of my lungs, "I feel like making love."
Man did I get a lot of strange looks.
Seeing that I am the 19th comment on this post tells me what I already have discovered...We all have special memories to music...That is the absolute number one reason why my blog has a video with every post...I am close to 200 posts using a different song each time...I know that there will be a day when I duplicate, but the streak is still in tact...
chill
Here's my confession: me and music don't get along. Don't get me wrong- I love music, listen to my iPod everyday, have favorite bands and songs. I just can't remember lyrics and tunes for anything. I could be in a store and my favorite song come on the speakers, and me... I wouldn't even notice. I can't even tell if American Idols are singing off key. Oh well, everybody has a gift.
The beauty of my problem... every time I hear a song, it's like hearing it for the first time:)
Chill,
You da man :) You wrote the book my friend. Or should I say "song".
Mark
