Just finished our Big Idea meeting. This weekend is going to be the most complicated weekend in NCC history! Wow. We've got a Good Friday service @ 6 PM. It's followed by a performance of Godspell. We have our Easter Eggstravaganza which takes 100+ volunteers to pull off on Saturday. Then we've got our two Saturday night services, a baptism during our 7:07 and another Godspell production @ 10 PM. Then we've got Easter Sunday.
This weekend is going to really stretch our team. But thank God for the complications!
I have a theology of complications. Sin complicates your life in negative ways. God complicates your life in positive ways. I believe that complications are part of God's blessing. Remember the parable of the talents? The reward for good work was more work. In other words, God complicates our lives! And it's a blessing.
When I got married it complicated my life. Thank God for complications. Lora and I have three complications named Parker, Summer, and Josiah. Thank God for complications. And having church in multiple locations is really complicated. Thank God for complications!

I really resonate with your "theology of complication" because life is tough in and of itself, but when you add ministry, a family, friends, and recreation - that's a receipe for complication! Thanks be to God for the grace to balance (as best we can) our life and love!
