Weekend Reflections
It was a full weekend. We had our quarterly leadership summit on Saturday morning. I began casting vision for the launch of our next location. I used a passage in Numbers 9 where God tells the Israelites to "break camp." In a sense, that is what we do every time we launch another location. So energized about our next launch!
Had great services this weekend. Part two in our series: He Came. He Died. He Conquered. I preached my heart out today. Emotionally exhausted afterwards. It is so easy to become numb to what Christ did on the cross, but I really felt like God brought us back to the foot of the cross. Powerful communion celebration!
This afternoon we had a meeting for NCCers who are getting baptized next weekend. This is our first Easter Baptism. We're doing it right between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. How symbolic is that. Baptism symbolizes the death and resurrection of Christ. So appropriate to do it on the Saturday in between. We'll do the baptism after our 7:07 service @ Ebenezers.
What a privilege to be part of people going public with their faith. And the stories shared today were so amazing. Never cease to marvel at the way God meets each of us in different ways. He is so big and His grace is so amazing!
These are the kind of weekends that keep you keeping on!

I still watch your "Baptism By the Bay" video at least once a month. It, to me, is a prime example of celebrating "the win" and the joy of bringing people to Christ. For anyone out there who has not seen it, go to the link below and click "Baptism By the Bay" on the right. Mark... any chance of getting this video up on Youtube to link into diretly?

Hi Mark,
Great job today with the service. I am one of the students that is on the Leadership Trip with Dr. Bob Rhoden. I was wondering of you could send me the links so that I can purchase the communion pouches and the video from Passion of the Christ?
Thanks
Jess Bousa
Jess,
You can contact Amanda--who I think you may know. She's a VFCC grad. I think she'd have the 411.
Great to have your team at NCC this weekend.
Blessings,
Mark
I was at your 9 a.m. service on Sunday -- eventually, I just quit wiping my face because the tears wouldn't stop. Your sermon was powerful, to say the least. Thank you for preaching your heart out --and yet God will give you more to say next week -- pretty incredible.
Also, you mentioned "The Passion" in your sermon -- and just the thought of it made me almost weep. I could hardly even stand that video. but then you played it, along with the song from Evanessence song, and that just broke me completely. I was touched once again by the death I caused my Lord, and I am so guilty of forgetting about that price day in and day out.
Thank you --
also: is there any way you could provide a link to the Passion videe clip along with the song? I've just GOT to pass that along. Who does your graphics/media, by the way? Sooo impressive and thought-provoking.
Just wondering, since ya'll don't have a permanent church site...where do you do baptisms? We're just coming up on this question ourselves since we don't have a building of our own and wondered what others do...
Jessi,
We have to get creative with baptisms :) Our big baptism is "the baptism by the bay". We do a baptism during the summer at public beach--super cool to "go public" with your faith in a public place.
We've done ocean baptisms--we called them "bonfire baptisms" because we did them at night at the ocean.
The Easter Baptism is actually at our coffeehouse...we set up a portable baptismal...then we create a sacred ambiance with candles, etc.
Hope that helps,
Mark
