One Day's Pay
We brainstormed a pretty cool idea in our Big Idea meeting today. I plan on talking about the launch of our fourth location on Sunday as part of our Chapter Two series. It'll take about $100,000 to get it off the ground. And we didn't include the launch in our 2007 budget. We really wanted it to be above & beyond our budget--a financial step of faith.
So this weekend we're doing another experiment modeled after the giving pattern in Acts 2. We're going to challenge NCCers to give One Day's Pay as an investment in the launch. We'll hand out psuedo-checks that will double as commitment cards. We're still working on the final design, but here is a rough sketch.

What a great concept. Thanks for allowing the creative juices to drip on all of us.
I happened upon your site and then ended up listening to your first message in the chapter two series. It was a real encouragement!
I have a thought on creativity. It goes something like this: God creates His creation only reforms and even this act of reformation is child's play in light of God abilities. When I had this thought it was humbling and empowering at the very same time. I cannot create anything and I am ok with that. With the creators inspiration I can develope what he has created and the beauty is because he is the creator He can always get the glory!
8 All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
Ecclesiastes 1:8-10
Modify, restructure, organize, reform, change, develope.
Never has a man brought something from nothing only recontructed what God has provided.
Thank you for being an encouragement to me

That is a fantastic idea! I pray the Lord provides those funds!
Oh My....This may be the coolest, most creative way to challenge people to give, I have ever seen. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for thinking outside the stewardship box...and can't wait to chase the goose.

WOW! What a great concept. It will be interesting to hear how it goes.
that's an interesting and compelling idea.
i think that's a great idea.
i hope it's well received.
What about a "One-Day's Pay" calculator. It took some head scratchin' before I could figure that one out for myself. A quick chart (or formula) might be helpful for your attenders...
Mark,
I'm HOPING that isn't your bank account # on the bottom there.
Just looking out! and what an AWESOME idea...
Mark,
I would love to be a fly on the wall in your big idea meetings. I regularly share your schtuff with my staff. Once again... you guys are off the hook!
Awesome Mark,
We did this very thing last Sunday and our people were blown away with the idea!
