Wild Goose Chase

Bookmark and Share

It's official.

My next book, Wild Goose Chase, is slated to release Spring '08. We pulled the plug on the leadership book because In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day has been such a pleasant surprise. My publisher felt like I should write a sequel of sorts. So we're going from chase the lion to chase the goose.

Wild Goose Chase is a double entendre. It plays off the name the Celtic Christians had for the Holy Spirit. They called Him the Wild Goose. It's also a great description of what it's like to be led by the Spirit of God. Nothing is more adventurous.

I remember coming across that phrase a couple of years ago... loved how well it fitted with how the Spirit acts! Look forward to the new book...

So does this mean more "Wild Goose Hunter" videos? You in camouflage, driving "big blue," chasing the geese?

Perhaps I will lead the petition. I can see it now... Online picketers, bloggers, and NCC'ers alike... chanting with signs on street corners, on coffee cups at Ebenezer's... "We won't buy the book without a new Goose Chase video!"

Anyone care to join in?

(haha, kidding of course)

Seriously, congrats on the third book in what we all hope to be an ongoing journey. I know how hard it is for an author to craft the message and take care of normal daily duties so high props to you for managing it all!

You are a kindred spirit! I love the title, being partially descended from many Celtic peoples, and the topic sounds just awesome.

Hey, when are the study group materials for IaPwaLoaSD going to be ready?

Looking forward to reading it. I pasted ITPWALOASD to friends that are heading to DC late June and they are going to check out your church. They volunteer in our children's ministry and I am so excited that they are going to see another perception of what church can be.

Jared,

The Study Group curriculum for In a Pit comes out in September! It is being released by Threads--a new branch of Lifeway. I'll definitely post the 411 when it comes out.

PM,

WOW! Exciting news! Is this a entire new book or a rework of the leadership material?

Looking forward to The Wild Goose. Have always loved the Celtic Christian's reference for the Holy Spirit.
