Baptism Towel

One of the new twists at this year's baptism was giving everybody who got baptized a baptism towel. I'm a big believer in spiritual mementos. We need to surround ourselves with physical reminders. Check out Deuteronomy 6. We thought the towel would be a cool "baptism certificate."

We'll also give everybody who got baptized a DVD copy of the baptism so they can share it with friends and family.

What an awesome gift idea! We normally baptize individuals whenever they can (we have a baptistry in our facility) but we decided to have a baptism celebration one afternoon. It was awesome! It was the best baptism experience we've ever had! I hope you don't mind if we "steal" your idea on the towel. What a great visual and reminder! Could this also be the forefront thoughts of a "servant's towel?"
Thanks for all you do.

Bob,

Steal away! I specifically posted this one because I thought it might be one of those ideas some other churches would want to take and use.

Blessings,

Mark

I like that you are making their baptism more memorable. As a whole, baptism is a yawn to the Christian Community. It should be one of the most important moments just like a wedding or as memorable as the crossing of the red sea. I like the towel idea but I like the video even more. Any visual reminder of their identification IN CHRIST.
