Let the games begin

It's t-minus two days till my first triathlon and I've had some kind of stomach virus all week. I've actually dropped about five pounds because I can't eat the way I normally do. Hoping I can shake it before Saturday!

We'll take the kids out of school early on Friday and head out to Dewey Beach. The game plan is to run the race and then head back to DC so I can preach a double-header on Saturday night. Then I'm off to Memphis for a Chase the Lion event on Sunday. It's going to be a whirlwind weekend.

You are going to have an amazing time and on Monday will be looking at your calendar for an oylmpic distance. I did my first tri 14 months ago and managed to finish an ironman in July (wrote about the experience and some lessons learned - vanpay.wordpress.com). The parrallel between endurance events and the church planting adventure has been interesting. With the time it took to train for the beast...i imagine that i'm one and done. Good luck, don't forget to smile, and we can't wait to hear about your race report!

Just take care of yourself. Seems like alot of pushing a body that is already pulled down a bit. Wouldn't want to hear about anything happening to you. I'm praying all goes well for you and you have an amazing weekend!!
Blessings to you!!

-by the way, I'm the one who posted the other day not understanding how to subscribe to your messages by email. Thanks for your response, I subscribed and got your message on Weds. How cool! I really appreciate being able to read them. One of these days I'm going to hear you in person!

Good luck, Mark!

Keep me in your prayers. I've got to mow the lawn on Saturday. I might get some ice cream or something Sunday afternoon. Oh yeah, I'm also going to watch Tiger play golf.

Sure, it's no triathlon, but I'll be pretty busy, too.

Hey, Pastor Mark!

I agree with Lisa! Take care of yourself...and listen to your body. I'm praying for you as well!
