Big Day

Bookmark and Share

It's a big day for our family. My sister-in-law, Amanda, is getting married today. Such a privilege to be officiating the wedding. And what a blast hanging out with family who is in town for the wedding!

Well, I better go dust off my one and only suit. I haven't worn it since my last wedding!

Hello, my name is Jenilyn Jackson and I felt like I really should write you. I was searching to see if there was any way I could share with you something and found this blog thing so I apologize if it has nothing to do with your blog but I just wanted to share with you the impact you've had on my life, a stranger who you've never met. I know that as an author and a pastor of a church you probably get a lot of people sharing how you've changed their lives- I will be another person to add to that. I am a student at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Il. I know that you were from Il. so maybe you know it. Anyhow, this summer I took an internship in Hollywood at the Oasis. Every thursday we would go to the Dream Center in LA. June 14th you came and spoke a radical life changing message to me and I havent been the same since...That night I bought your book, "In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day" and this book touched me in so many ways. You have such a unique way of writing that is humorous yet intriguing. You seemed to have captured a beautiful picture of what it means to go after the "lions" of life. Being in Hollywood and seeing the hurt and pain all summer, I have no doubt that you spoke to many people that night. You definately spoke to my heart. I've never heard a message so close to my heart before. God has given me something huge to do- I've had my doubts if I am even able... this seems to be so big- it's definately a God dream... one in which I don't even know how to do it- but you've given me the drive to seek after this "lion" with everything I have and to chase it! thank you so much for your insight and obedience to God. You are truely one of my heros!

I hope to one day visit Washington and your church. You spoke very highly of your church family and I would love to visit some day.

Thank you again and I just wanted to share this with you to encourage you! God Bless,
Jenilyn

Jenilyn,

Thanks for taking the time to post that. Makes my day. And for what it's worth, I spent some time on the campus at Trinity. I went to seminary there!

Blessings,

Mark
