A Game of Leap Frog
I love the way more and more churches are going open source and sharing their resources for free! My friend, Buddy Cremeans, from Northwaychurch.tv in New York is sharing their latest series. If you have any open source resources post a comment.
I think creativity is like a game of leap frog. We share our stuff with you; you take it, adapt it, upgrade it and do it better than we do it; and you leap frog over us. Then we take what you've done; adapt it and upgrade it; and we leap frog over you! I'm afraid that churches aren't great at sharing with each other so we're all reinventing the wheel every week! Let's play leap frog.
You can check out one of our open source series at www.chasethelion.com.
We're hoping to open source everything in due time.

I love this analogy Mark. In many ways when we help others go beyond us we have already received our benefit. Its an added bonus that we then get to learn and grow from what they do with it. We've been thinking more and more about this, so your post was timely. Thanks!
We're doing a 6 week series on Prayer and following up the sermons each week with Small group studies that reinforce the weekend message. We're posting it online for our small group leaders, but it's available to everyone.

Some more open-source NCC materials-- we've made the curriculum from our core discipleship group Theology 101 available. We'll be re-engineering it for next time, so we'd love for some folks to leap frog us!
Awesome! This has been a holy discontent that God has been laying on my heart for sometime.
The kingdom opportunities that are created when we share our resources are awesome.
As I begin my journey in church planting (former pastor who is returning since leaving the ministry in 1999) I rellish and eat-up all that I can get.
Thanks for the blessings!
Hey Mark,
When is Craig's final session from the Buzz Conference going to be released? (as in, I keep checking and checking and checking)...
At Allison Park Church, we've just launched a new website and have started open-sourcing our series graphics with more to come soon. You can check out the resources at mcm.allisonparkchurch.com or click the link here.
I am on my way to scope out the Open Source - but I must say, Chase The Lion is absolutely rocking my world! Thanks so much for putting this stuff out there. The Catalyst article really was a great appetizer for me...Awesome. Thanks again, Mark.
Just waiting on the green light to post Craig's session. We'll try to post it asap.
Mark
I just want to say thank you to you and Craig, I also thanked you at Catalyst. I speak at a small Korean Church in their Youth and Young Adult English service. I have no budget, so all the open source materials I can get my hands on helps so much. Thanks again and I look forward to checking out other open resources.
I attended LifeChurch.tv when Craig G announced they were open-sourcing everything. I was blown away. I prayed that God would bless them ten-fold over what they would have received if they had sold their stuff. I'll pray the same for you and all the open-sourcers out there. I know the publishers don't like it but I'm sure God does. I'm planting now in Bakersfield, CA and am so glad for all the kingdom resources. Thanks for all the inspiration Mark
