Lion Chaser's Manifesto
As promised over the weekend, here is the lion chaser's manifesto.
Read it. Post it. Live it.
Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past and start creating the future. Stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences. Enjoy the journey. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Live like today is the first day and last day of your life. Don't let what's wrong with you keep you from worshiping what's right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze a new trail. Criticize by creating. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don't try to be who you're not. Be yourself. Laugh at yourself. Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away.
Chase the lion.

Thanks so much for coming bringing the Word to us, Mark. I think that through you God told me exactly what I needed to hear at this stage in my life. I especially liked the line in the Lion Chaser's Manifesto: "Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention." God has been whispering that for a while, and now He is making it abundantly clear. One of those things will definitely be marriage, which happens this summer, and another is being more intentional about interacting with lost people. Thanks again, man.
Your fellow lion chaser,
Matt
Just so you're aware, I made the first line of that one of my favorite quotes on Facebook. You're given credit. The whole thing is my background on my computer. Thank you so much for speaking this weekend. It was life-rechanging, if that makes sense. May God continue to bless you and yours (Your family and friends and NCC.)...I'll have to stop by the coffeehouse if I'm ever in DC.

Posting it on my blog....thanks!
Mark, I'm so glad you posted the manifesto. I heard about your book through another pastor, and I'm just going to have to read it. Your insights are very helpful to us newer guys. Thanks.
Mark, I live in the Pacific NW and am in the middle of reading your book. It's so encouraging as our family is in the biggest lion chase of our life. God called my husband to quit his job as a high school teacher and build a social network that has people in mind especially the safety of our future generation. We have been on this journey for about a year and a half. This "ark" that we are building has so much more to be added but the basic frame work can be found at http://www.kuzoa.com Thanks for writing your book and sharing your thoughts. I can't wait to finish it! I am hanging on every word. I just had to stop to find you and send some encouragement your way. God bless your ministry!
I would love this and the artwork for the book to put into a desktop, myspace widget, etc...
in all your "free-time"
Thanks for the great insights!
Images of the lion C.S. Lewis created (or adapted) make your call both a call to chase away that which would seek to attack us as well as following hard after - chasing - the Lion of Judah. Thanks much, Mark. The Manifesto goes on my blog as well.
finished the book today...have given 5 away! keep writting! im chasing my lion!
I was greeted this morning with poster on my wall from my staff for boss's day. They signed it "From: Your Lion Chasers" I've been challenging them to Chase the Lion in all that they do.

I am lead pastor for christian life center in Rolla, MO. a church plant of 4 years; clcrolla.com. After reading your book, God spoke some things very clear to me. We were stuck at a point and not moving forward, overwhelmed by some financial challenges from a new building project, we chased the lion to experience a miracle and that we did. We had 35 salvations during the series and our attendance increased from 150 to an overwhelming 250 in 6 weeks. We raised $30,000 toward our debt reduction as well. You definitely inspired clc with Chase the Lion. We give God praise for your inspiration to chase the lion

AWESOME!!! Really can't express more what how I feel about the manifesto!!
Mark -
I just want to let you know what an inspiration you and the book have been to me while i've been in DC. My internship has just been that much better out here with a church and congregation like you have. The manifesto is definitely going on my blog so that others may be inspired to chase the lion!
I love the church, and am sad that I have to leave it when I return home. May NCC keep chasing their lions and God bless!
Marko
Marko,
So glad we could be a church away from church for you!
Blessings,
Mark
