Invite Cards
One of our primary objectives as a church is to turn attenders into inviters. Church is a tag team sport. And one of the ways we empower people to invite people is by handing out invite cards.
We like playing off the movie theater or metro motif. Here is our newest invite card that plays off our vision of meeting in movie theaters at metro stops throughout the DC area.
PS. We made the card generic because of copyright issues. We steered clear of making it too DC specific so we don't infringe on anybody else's creative property. And the image is a stock photo that we purchased.

Mark- I know this is probably your unedited version and your staff will catch this anyway, but theaterchurch is spelled wrong on the top page :)
Is it OK if I steal that idea? That is a FANTASTIC way to invite people, especially in cities that rely heavily on public transportation. Props to you guys for being out of the box with that one!
Jennifer,
We're idiots :) I wish it was the unedited version :)
This is not the first time we've misspelled a critical word on something. I love it when Jesus is misspelled on worship slides.
It's good to be humbled every once in a while. How could we miss that? It's only our website :)
Let's just say that you've inspired a new policy at NCC--an editing process to double-check spelling.
When you don't have a double-check it's fobody's nault. You know what I'm saying? I looked at these cards and never caught it.
Mark
Tim,
Everything we share is to be "stolen" and done better than us :) It might not be good if you are local. Might be a little strange if two churches in the same neighborhood have the same invite card. But definitely take it and share it with someone else.

Besides theaterchurch being spelled wrong looks good! Speaking on the topic of inviting. I don't know how many times I have talked to people in DC area and have invited people to Ebenezers while I am talking about their cell phone account. I live in Kansas (never been to DC) and so I just wanted to let you know that using I am using Ebenzers sometimes in my conversation to hopefully get them to you.
Was there a strategic decision not to include am/pm on the service times? Maybe it was just a style thing.
Mark - it's a great card. And don't worry, that happens to all of us! We did the same thing not too long ago. And it was double checked! Better institute a triple-check policy! :)
Thanks for being willing to share. It doesn't fit our area, since we don't have public transportation, but the design is awesome and your willingness to share it is an example to others.
lol, I'm in Texas City, Texas...it's mine now, and no one will ever know...EvaR! ;)
I hear you're going to be in Houston soon...looking forward to the meetings. I was unable to make to Orlando last year. :|
Well, in case of Korea, there are some churches and organizations that order Smartcards with their own front side pictures. Perhaps NCC can contact the DC Metro and ask whether they can "buy" the front side of the Metrocard with the Invite Card picture.
I love the Invite Card format. It really is wonderful.
