Thank God for Adrenaline

I'm keeping a gratitude journal as a part of my prayer journal so everyday I write out three things I'm grateful for. Yesterday it was adrenaline. It was what I'd call a high adrenaline day.

For starters, the Packers won a huge playoff game. I'm a die hard Packers fan. Have been since I was in 2nd grade. I used to cry when they lost. And I haven't totally outgrown that. I was awfully scared when they went down by two touchdowns in the first five minutes of the game. But what an adrenaline rush when they came back to win.

And Parker's game last night was off the hook. What an adrenaline rush. We were losing after the first quarter, but we ended up winning a hard fought game. And Parker had a couple sweet shots! As the coach I feel like I'm the sixth man. I think my encouragement on the sideline translates into extra energy on the court. Let's just say that I lost my voice trying to out encourage the other coach! I'm so grateful for coaching. What a great competitive outlet.

Thank God for adrenaline!

Mark,

I'm from UCF so I saw you at Fall Retreat back in Oct. and then just saw you in Atlanta for Christmas Conference two weeks ago. But I'm originally from Wisconsin (20 mins from Green Bay), so I can relate to your heart for the Packers, especially when my dad is doing play by play on the snowy conditions just miles from my house.

After Christmas Conference and the life situations I have been facing, I decided to add your blog in the form of a little button on the top of my personal internet page. Just a click away is the lion chasing/lion taming advice I love. And having heard you twice, I even read it as I remember your voice to sound. Haha. We are also hanging out in the form of your book right before I hit the pillow!

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for this blog. It's a nice escape. I hope to visit your revolutionary church someday. I also hope you make it to a Packer game (I danced at halftime of one once - on Monday night - and it was AMAZING)!

Keep doing what you do. And thanks for the disclaimer... none of us are really anything without the redemption of Jesus Christ.

Hi Mark,

We met at the National Outreach Convention in San Diego this past November. Thanks for continuing to inspire me through your blog; I definitely resonate with what you're saying.

I grew up in WI, am a huge Packers fan, and just saw the Cowboys lose...looking forward to next weekend! Hope you can enjoy the game.

Keep up the good work. BTW - I've started working on my Life Goals - thanks for the model and inspiration.

Mark, Mark, Mark! I don't want to burst your adrenaline bubble but, as wonderful as this Packers run is, it is bound to end at the Superbowl when they face New England. Let me know if you need any tissues ( I have a box of 'manly' tissues).:)
