Cali

We survived the cross-country flight with the kids. So much easier now that they are a little older and can entertain themselves! Of course, two in-flight movies didn't hurt. Landed at LAX and went straight to the Santa Monica Pier. Ate at the end of the pier at a place called Mariasol. And then we walked the Third Street Promenade. The kids collapsed on our drive across town to our hotel.

The highlight of the day? Josiah saying, "This is the funnest day of my life." And we haven't even gone to Disney yet!

Mark,
Did the same trip w/ my family last year! My 3 year old (at the time) said the same thing. He's 4.5 now & when anyone mentions Cali, he lights up! We did Disney, Hollywood and a million other things, but my favorite memory was playing football with him on the beach right next to the pier! Have a great time!

Wow, you guys hit the ground running! I'm sure you will have a great time here in sunny Southern California. By the way, it would probably be a good idea to get sunblock for the kids...the "perfect" weather can be a bit deceiving.
Anywho, welcome to Cali!

Welcome to Sunny SoCal... looks like the weather is going to be ideal for you! Make sure you visit Huntington Beach and have dinner at Ruby's on the Pier, or if you want the real locals experience go to Harbor House Cafe in Sunset Beach.

Pastor Mark,
I stumbled on your blog while looking at the blog roll at Actual Unretouched Photos. My husband Napp and I were members of NCC four years ago before we moved to Texas and then SC. There is another move in our future but we're not sure to where. It's nice to see there is a way to keep connected with your family. I heard your voice on the radio sometime last year and also read a few reviews for your books. We really loved fellowship and Worshiping with our NCC family. I have two blogs now if you are interested in reading our latest news. Our family blog is www.allthatnaz.blogspot.com. Blessings to you, Laura and your little ones. Angela Nazworth

Thats awesome. My Wife and I ate at Mariasol. when we were there last summer.

When you go to Disney be sure to tell a cast member that you are celebrating (insert nearest birthday or anniversary here). You'll get the royal treatment.

Mark,

I'm jealous! We still have snow here in Ann Arbor, Michigan and I'm fighting a nasty cold. Ugh!

Anyhow, the reason I'm posting is because after almost meeting you at last year's Exponential Conference (I attended the blogging session but we never actually met) I finally read your book…in two days (which I think is a record for me!).

I really appreciated your book. Great stuff! As I read it I couldn't help but reflect on the past decade of planting Frontline Church here in Ann Arbor (www.frontlinechurch.org) and the lions I have chased and others I have run from or ignored.

Anyhow, have a great time in Cali. Maybe we'll meet in Orlando next month.

Blessings,

Kirk

It's hard to believe we haven't yet, but I look forward to connecting someday.
