I went into hibernation over winter. Lots of White Mochas and very little exercise. I put my workouts on hold for several weeks because of my writing deadline. Man, I'm feeling it today. I got back into my workout routine yesterday and I feel like an old man. But it feels good to be sore! Parker and I also start training this week for the 10K we're running at the end of May. We were going to start training two weeks ago but I'm just over all of my flu/cold symptoms.
It's spring training time!

PM,
What 10k are you running in May? I might wanna train too if it's local.

Thinking about Capitol Hill Classic.
Go watch Rocky III again...some of the best training footage ever...
your humble chill pastor
Im with you brother!! Im not running the 10K but I understand the soreness!!!
So, you've never met me, but I stumbled upon your profile Google-ing the definition of a dirty chai because I couldn't remember what else was in it...and then I figured out you were the author of "In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day"...which a good friend of mine just told me I needed to read... Serendipitous, no? Either way...I read through some of your stuff...and really like what you have to say...I'll have to keep checking back...and read that book, because clearly I'm supposed to... :)
Too funny! I would recommend reading the book while sipping a dirty chai :)

:) I think I may have to try that.
And from one person training to another, I hear ya. I'm getting ready for a three day, 270 mile bike ride across southern MN in May...just for fun with a group of friends. Ouch.
If you feel like it, stop by my blog sometime. Peace!
Just for fun :) You have an interesting definition of fun! For what it's worth, one of my life goals is to bike a century. Have fun pedaling!
So what's in a dirty chai?
It's a chai (I'm a vanilla chai guy) with a shot of espresso! Good taste plus the jolt of caffeine!

Ugh, I feel your pain Pastor Mark. Nothing like vacation/slack off soreness - been there:) In the spirit of getting back in shape, check this out. I think one of your goals was to do a tri with one of your kids. A fellow NCCer shared this group with me -http://www.triitnow.com/
I'm psyched because I've never swam before and am just learning. It's an awesome introduction into the world of multi-events with very doable distances. It's close to home and it's open to ages 10 thru 100! How cool it that?! I'll be checking "Do a tri" off my goal list on June 15th :) Even if it is the sprintiest sprint tri I could do!
