Tonight was one of the most enjoyable dinners I've been part of in a long time. Erwin McManus was kind enough to invite some speakers and friends over to his house. I know that's a huge sacrifice in the middle of a hectic conference that Mosaic is hosting. Some of the unscripted conversations were priceless.
One of the things I love about conferences isn't just the information I glean, but also the relational connections that are made. So cool to connect with kindred spirits!

That's awesome that you had a chance to hang with Erwin. I had a meeting with him a few years ago as well and was really impressed by his authenticity.
The longer I'm in ministry the more I value "iron sharpening iron."
Have a great week.

Dinner with Erwin McManus? Pshhh, I went to Chick-fil-a.
Did u meet any leaders from south africa at his house?
I'm so excited for you, bro. You did a great job too. I'm so proud of you, man. God is using you in an amazing way. I know all that's happening is simply a byproduct of a steadfast devotion to God that's happening behind the scenes. I will always remember not to trade in my imagination for the logical. Blessings!
Ewald,
Definitely made the "South Africa" connection!

so kewl, jealous of your time with the inner circle peoples :) the question on my mind is: what did you all eat for dinner?
Great food from an Armenian place I think. Had a nice middle eastern edge to it!
How about giving us a little of his wisdom in one sentence chunks...
Wow - that's so cool! Two of my favorite authors having dinner together! :)
So, when are you guys going to co-author a book together??
Hey Troy,
One thing Erwin said that really make me think was this: "Children aren't afraid of being wrong." I wonder if that's part of what it means to become like little children.

Kelly,
We batted the idea around today, but I'm not sure if anything will develop out of it. Who knows :)

Pastor Mark,
For the first time in my life at the age of 52 i am actually seriously thinking about proposing. I am now reading your blog and all the comments from others daily. I still see the way I relate to you as a friend is much like the relationship between Namaan and Elisha
