Cali

Landed at LAX a few hours ago. Here for the Purpose-Driven Summit at Saddleback. Absolutely love the weather--high 80's and sunny. It can't be too hot or too sunny for me. Even got in a short swim. Headed over to Rick Warren's house for dinner with the delegation of pastors that will serve as panelists for the conference.

I don't love the cross-country flights. But I did listen to several podcasts. Special thanks to my friends, Craig Groeschel and Perry Noble for great messages. I think Perry's message took me across 3 or 4 states! Also read a couple books--It's not about the Coffee and The Starfish and the Spider.

Since you're dining with Pastor Rick, you'll most likely be offered a wide choice of hot sauces. Hope you like spicy!

Enjoy the summit!

Those were two great books. I think Starfish and the Spider has impacted how I think about business and about ministry in more ways than I could have predicted. It is one the books I consider a "dangerous" book, as it could change the way you look at life without you even realizing it!

The Starfish and the Spider is a fantastic read!

The Starfish and the Spider has been on my 'thinking about reading' list for a while now. Would you recommend it?

(I've not commented before, I'm Sam from Sheffield, England where I'm the catalyst for a movement called Mosaic - part of the Mosaic Alliance. Just recently heard about you when I saw you were a speaker at the Awaken conference.)

You picked up a copy of It's Not About The Coffee! What did you think of it?

I'm at the summit as well. I'm from Fairfax,VA, with another staffer from our church. Hopefully we'll get a chance to connect.

I'd recommend both books. I really thought they were good reads. Both of them help me re-evaluate some of what we're doing at NCC.
