Off to Ethiopia
A couple years ago we decided to invest a significant percentage of our missions budget in a church plant in the capitol of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. I made my first trip to Ethiopia back in 2000. And I made a return trip in 2005. It was one of the most significant weeks of my life. I feel a unique affinity toward Ethiopia for a number of reasons that are beyond the scope of this blog. But I love the people. I love the food. And I love the vision of the pastor and my friend, Zeb Mengistu.
The church is only a few years old and it's influencing a few thousand people. The needs there are so overwhelming that it's hard to know where to start. But Beza International Church is making a difference big time!
I hop a flight on Wednesday and two red-eye flights later we'll be in Ethiopia. I've got a layover in London and I've never been there so I'm hoping to see the sights for half a day. Then we make a quick stop in Rome and it's on to Ethiopia. It'll be about 24 hours one-way. Let's just say I'm bringing lots of books and some Dramamine.
Since I'm checking out of the blogosphere for a few days I'm turning off comments.
See you on the flipside!
